DC Studios’ watch prepares to release a new movie that brings together the characters Bane and Deathstroke from Batman comics.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. Pictures, under the direction of James Gunn and Peter Safran at DC Studios, is currently working on a new film that includes Batman’s villains Bane and Deathstroke. The news indicates that the project is currently in development, with writer Matthew Orton, known for “Captain America: Brave New World,” working on a screenplay draft. There is currently no director attached to the project.
It is unclear whether the film will be part of the revamped DC Universe by Gunn and Safran or if it will be a separate “Elseworlds” project like Matt Reeves’ “The Batman.” Productions such as the HBO series “The Penguin,” available on BluTV in our country, and the upcoming “Joker: Folie a Deux” also focus on Batman villains separately from the new DCU.
While Bane and Deathstroke have appeared in live-action films before, Tom Hardy portrayed Bane as the main villain in Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises,” while Joe Manganiello appeared as Deathstroke in a scene at the end of the “Justice League” film. Additionally, Bane is one of the standout characters in Max’s “Harley Quinn” animated series, and Deathstroke appeared as a villain in the second season of The CW’s “Arrow” series.
